Country Pub Nights

The Gate Inn at Troway maintains the traditions of a real country pub.

Throughout the year country pub nights are organised.

February sees the sloe tasting contest.

In September as the nights are drawing in, Harthill Morris come along to the Gate and give an excellent display of traditional dances on the car park. As the light fades performers and spectators venture into the warmth of the pub for a drink and evening of traditional country songs. You can see a video of the 2012 evening on the Gate Inn Gallery.

The annual Marrow Competition with prizes for best in show, heaviest, longest and best dressed was held early in October for many years, however it has been superseded by emerging social trends with a home made piccalilli competition and home made Christmas cake night.

All are welcome to come along and join in or just have a drink and be a part of the company.
